Is it Inexpensive or is it Permanent? Is it Permanent or is it Portable?
These two catch-all headings represent very common questions from customers. The difference between Inexpensive/cheaper/low-cost and Permanent is usually that an inexpensive item is designed for a limited, temporary application or event, and not really made to weather well or to look as good as new for years, while Permanent signs are made to last longer, look good for a number of years, and weather very well.
The main difference is that Permanent signs require more of an up-front investment, which over the expected life span of the sign, costs much less than buying a cheaper sign which has to be replaced more often.
It's the perfect example of the old homily, "Penny wise and Pound foolish".
